INFORMATION

Alfred George Ellis with D Company 35th Battalion AIF on the 3th of January 1916 and was an original member of the Battalion and left Sydney on board HMAT A24 "Benalla" on the 1st of May 1916 with the rank of Corporal and disembarked at Plymouth, England on the 9th of July 1916. James was marched to the 9th Training Battalion where he remined until he proceeded overseas for France via Southampton on the 21st of November and was Taken on in Strength in the field.

Family Information

Alfred was a single 19 year old Labourer from Abernathy, N.S.W. upon enlistment. He was serving with the 14th Infantry Battalion.
