William Duff Crichton enlisted with C Company 35th Battalion on the 8th of January 1916 and left Sydney on board HMAT A24 "Benalla" on the 1st of May 1916 and returned to Australia on the 7th of July 1919.


William was a 27 year old Coal Miner from Burton Street, Kurri Kurri, New South Wales upon enlistment.

William is burried in the Church of England Section of the Kurri Kurri Cemetery. He died on the 8th of January the same day he enlisted in the AIF. His father lived at Coaltown, Balgonie, near Kinch, Fife, Scotland upon Williams enlistment and was recorded as his next of kin.
